Take the risk.

A few months ago, I decided I needed to leave the hospital. I knew my chiropractor’s wife had a clinic, so I took the chance to ask if they needed an RN. Little did I know, that one question would lead me to where I am now. I am an RN, Case Manager at a restorative clinic.. The job I never want to leave! I finally feel like I can give the best care I can to the community. I am so grateful for the opportunities my boss has given me!

I left the hospital due to my own mental and physical health decline. I had to take extra anxiety medication before going to work. Sometimes I cried while driving on my way to work. I enjoyed my patients, but the stress of working in a hospital during COVID as a new grad, did not help in any way. I knew that I could not stay and be the nurse I wanted to be. I was working in the adult mental health unit. This was my first job out of nursing school, which was my dream job at the time.

Although I enjoyed working in mental health, I have always been interested in the natural side of healthcare. Especially since I had witnessed how much the conventional side of healthcare does not help anyone longterm. Yes, I am a nurse and I definitely still advocate for medication when it is needed. But most medications are not needed for chronic use. That being said, it is not worth working in an environment that you don’t fully believe in what you are doing. Or that you don’t enjoy.

You’d be surprised how many people are prescribed a handful/cup-full of pills to take each day…

Now I am in a job that aligns more with how I believe patient care should be like. I encourage and provide patients the tools for their own body to repair itself. I get to work with others that share this mindset as well!

Yes, the decision was very difficult and I had to make sacrifices that were totally worth it! To be in the point of your life where you have to push back the fear and clutch to faith, is terrifyingly wonderful! I have grown so much and still have much more to learn!

This is how I am feeling…🤣

So, if you are a nurse, or any human for that matter, don’t be afraid to grab onto an opportunity that can bring you more joy and fulfillment. Also, letting go of things that aren’t good is important. Whether it is a job, position, relationship, or thing, it is not worth the negativity it brings into your life. You have to make the difficult decision.

If there is any opportunity that has been brought to you, or you know there is something you need to give up in order for your growth, please comment! I look forward to hearing from you!

Goodbye for now, Naomi ❤

Amen!
